Sachiko Toyoda
Sagamihara, Japan
Sachiko Toyoda learned to hook rugs from Sally Ballinger while living in Illinois. Sachiko was inspired enough to become a McGown Teacher, receiving accreditation in 2006. Now living in Sagamihara, Japan, she is among the select few accredited teachers there. Her SWEET SIXTEEN was chosen for Celebrations XIV and was a Reader’s Choice. Sachiko has an ongoing class in Japan and teaches students from 4 years old to 83 years old. One of her students has diminishing eyesight, but Sachiko is able to lay her student's wool out for her because she still enjoys rug hooking and does not wish to lose that pleasure. We are grateful to have such an ambassador for the rug hooking world in Japan.
