Loretta began hooking in 2000 under the wonderful instruction of Helen Connelly and quickly fell in love with Traditional Rug Hooking. She is experienced in both Fine and Wide cut hooking and was certified in 2012. She is also experienced in Mixed Media or Alternative Hooking and uses anything that can be cut and pulled up as a loop. She loves beads, and bead embroidery, felting, and aplique and frequently incorporates these techniques into her hooking. She has taught Traditional Rug Hooking at The Art League of Long Island, The City Quilter in Manhattan, The Great Neck Women's Club and teaches classes in her home studio on Long Island, New York from September through June. She is the Current President of the Long Island Guild of Rugcrafting Artists which meets 4 times a year at Old Bethpage Village Restoration.
