Helping students create individual rugs reflecting their personal style & colors is what Anne enjoys most about the art of rug hooking. She also loves teaching beginning & intermediate students to refine their techniques. She began rug hooking in 1999, enjoys using plaids & textured wools and has created items such as purses, pillows, coasters, etc. Students taking this class will have written handouts on these applications and will be provided instructions on using computer technology in rug hooking. Anne prefers cut sizes 6 through 9 and is open to any pattern. She has experience with primitive, floral, oriental, and animal designs. Anne received her McGown accreditation in 2012 and is co-owner of Heart & Hare Rugs LLC with longtime friend, Jane Rowe. They teach classes in their Kansas City studio, design patterns, sell Rauma Ryegarn rug yarn as well as other supplies at local & regional events. Anne is a member of the McGown guild, ATHA, the State Line Rug Hookers ATHA Guild in the Kansas City area and served 2 terms as the ATHA Region 8 Representative.
