EXECUTIVE BOARD

(APPOINTED BY THE CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD)

Chairman of the Board

Appoints the Editor of the newsletter, treasurer, the Director of Exhibits and the Directors of the Guild Rug Schools.

President

Sets the agenda, calls for meetings of the BODs and Annual Guild meetings and presides at those meetings. Ex-Officio member of all committees.

Vice President

Vice-President presides at meetings if the president cannot be present. Assumes the duties of the president, if the president cannot fulfill her/his duties. Begins to learn the business of the Guild.

Treasurer

Maintains the books for the McGown National Board including collecting dues, paying bills, maintaining the bank account, and filing annual reports with the government.  The treasurer also maintains the membership information which is used to mail out the quarterly McGown Newsletter.

GOVERNING BOARD

Chairman of Activities and Members at Large

Produces Guild flyers for National Guild events, offers an article in the Newsletter occasionally on the activities of a Member at Large and responds to questions of members and potential members.

Chairman of Communications

Maintains the Pearl K. McGown Webpage, keeping information as current as possible. Responsible for creating all advertising and submitting the copy ready ads for the National Guild or Chapter in any and all publications.

Corresponding Secretary

Corresponds to members as directed by the President or as needed to express condolences, get well and congratulatory messages on behalf of the Board of Directors and Trustees. Works with the Director of Exhibits to oversee the Pearl K. McGown Educational Award Applications.

Director of Exhibits

Two members of the Board will oversee the Grant Program; will accept Grant requests and forward them on to the Board, is the liaison from Board to Local Director of next exhibit and locates groups that will host the future shows.

Historian

Promotes the acquisition and/or collection of materials of interest to the National Guild after an acquisition, the Historian will determine the proper disposition of the material.
