Appoints the Editor of the newsletter, treasurer, the Director of Exhibits and the Directors of the Guild Rug Schools.

President
Sets the agenda, calls for meetings of the BODs and Annual Guild meetings and presides at those meetings. Ex-Officio member of all committees.
Vice President
Vice-President presides at meetings if the president cannot be present. Assumes the duties of the president, if the president cannot fulfill her/his duties. Begins to learn the business of the Guild.
Recording Secretary
Keeps the minutes of the meetings of the BODs and the Annual meeting of the Guild called by the BODs as well as any special meeting.
Treasurer
Maintains the books for the McGown National Board including collecting dues, paying bills, maintaining the bank account, and filing annual reports with the government. The treasurer also maintains the membership information which is used to mail out the quarterly McGown Newsletter.
GOVERNING BOARD
Chairman of Activities and Members at Large
Produces Guild flyers for National Guild events, offers an article in the Newsletter occasionally on the activities of a Member at Large and responds to questions of members and potential members.
Chairman of Education
Responds to inquires from the public about rug schools, teachers, guild locations and exhibits. Provides information to guilds for meeting programs.
Executive Advisor
Provides information and/or advice on topics as requested by the Board and Board Officers and researches topics if requested.
Chairman of Chapters
Keeps record of all current chapters, presidents and members, helps with the formation of new chapters.
Chairman of Communications
Maintains the Pearl K. McGown Webpage, keeping information as current as possible. Responsible for creating all advertising and submitting the copy ready ads for the National Guild or Chapter in any and all publications.
Corresponding Secretary
Corresponds to members as directed by the President or as needed to express condolences, get well and congratulatory messages on behalf of the Board of Directors and Trustees. Works with the Director of Exhibits to oversee the Pearl K. McGown Educational Award Applications.
Two members of the Board will oversee the Grant Program; will accept Grant requests and forward them on to the Board, is the liaison from Board to Local Director of next exhibit and locates groups that will host the future shows.
Historian
Promotes the acquisition and/or collection of materials of interest to the National Guild after an acquisition, the Historian will determine the proper disposition of the material.
Chairman of Lending Library
Stores the loanable library, packs and mails any part of the library to any Guild member who requests it.
Editor of Newsletter
Publishes 4 issues per membership year (July 1-June 30).
Member At Large
Assists the Editor of the Newsletter in securing articles, provides guidance and advice on issues as requested by the Board.
