The Naomi Miller’s St. Louis Guild of Rug Hookrafters, McGown Chapter #40- St. Louis, MI
Formed in 1977 and meets in the Kirkwood/Webster Groves area of St. Louis County. We meet at Webster Groves Christian Church at 1320 W. Lockwood in the Parlor Room. We have a wonderful lending library which has rug hooking books, catalogs, back issues of our national newsletter, copies of RUG Hooking and The Wool Street Journal magazines. Meetings are the third Thursday with the business meeting beginning at 10:30 AM. A light lunch is served following the meeting. We have the room until 2:00 PM so everyone is welcome to bring their hooking with them.
Pearl McGown Rughookrafters Guild of the Southern Tier–Chapter #1- Vestal, NY
The #1 Guild celebrated its 40th year anniversary in 2012 as the first McGown chapter formed by two teachers, Helen Moore & Peg Schneider of Vestal, NY at Pearl McGown’s urging. The members meet the 2nd Tues. of every month except July & Aug. at the Vestal Methodist Church from 10-2pm. (With some variation)

At our meetings, programs are planned, a “Show & Tell” of finished projects exhibited, and fellowship among our hooking friends enjoyed. Instructors & members are invited to further their “hooking skills”, whether its color planning, hooking techniques & or learning new ideas. We bring our lunch & the members provide desserts. New or experienced hookers are welcome. We have a yearly May “HOOK OUT” at “Sky Lake” (a church camp) for the day with a catered lunch and enjoy the beautiful lake setting. Every other year we have a two day Rug Show at the Church, open to the public for “free”. We are fortunate to have six Pearl McGown teachers as members in our Guild: Claire de Roos, Nancy MacLennon, Gail Kirch, Barbara Gott, Marian Rutty & Betsy Sarver in our Guild. Come join us, we have a wonderful time.
The Long Island Guild of Rugcrafting Artists, Chapter #13- Melville, NY
Our guild has been in around since 1979. We have a rug show every other year and a few workshops in between. Our next Rug show is on Saturday May 5th 2012 and will be held at The Presbyterian Church of Sweet Hollow, Melville NY. We meet 4 times a year on a Monday, at Old Bethpage Village Restoration. Members of our Guild have been involved in hooking reproductions of the village’s beautiful Antique rugs. The rugs we hook replace the existing rugs which are very tattered and worn.
